![]() The earlier mentioned risk is that such an unknown weapon can have a rare fatal chamber failure when jamming and it will basically explode in your face and makes the weapon itself unusable.īy no means is this script meant to be realistic. For me it is a gameplay mechanic and I treat it that way as well. (This is to simulate longer reloading times as it is not possible otherwise in ARMA) In general, unknown weapons will be less accurate the more the heat up, they are prone to jam more then your starting weapon and reloading can fail, so you have to reload again. So, I started thinking of a way to discourage players form picking up enemy weapons, but not outright remove the option for them.Īs a solution I came up with a system which makes enemy weapons less efficient and still usable, but it comes with a risk. I’ve been in similar situations like these before and all I could do was hope my squad would not run out of ammo or some other squad would safe us. This would also means running out of ammo as a player with no other way to resupply then looting enemy or friendly corpses will render you defenseless. Most revolve around the idea of just straight up removing guns and ammo from dead enemies or even enemy guns from a player’s inventory. Thats why the earlier guns are so weak to give some sort of means of progression.A script that punishes picking up unknown/enemy weapons by degrading their efficiency!Īs a mission maker and player, it is generally known not to pickup enemy guns for multiple reasons, such as being able to ID enemies easier.ĭuring my time playing this game I saw multiple ideas how to limit players form picking up enemy guns. If you start modding bullet power you will simply be extremely OP godmode with later tier weapons. I dont believe anything needs to be tweaked in any of the gun files, they are perfect and realistic. Just so you know modding files is a slippery slope. Thats why Anomaly is best saved for experienced stalkers who have at least played the base games and have some understanding of the zone and how the AI works. Stalker is unlike any other fps game but if you take the time to learn its mechanics it will reward you with many hours of fun. Also the AI like to Mag dump at you so watch for their reloads. Like say if you get ambushed rather than trying to kill 1 of them just try and land at least 1 shot on all of them and it will give you an opportunity to find cover while they stagger from being shot. You can effectively stun lock multiple enemies into this animation since it requires just 1 bullet. The Toz-34 is the best option with the starting weapons as it has some serious power and will jam less because its a 2 barrel shotgun.Īlso even the smallest pistol calibres seem to stagger even the heaviest armoured opponent when shot in the chest or head. Always invest in a good helmet and armour, then get a budget good weapon or a quality pistol and go from there. Im currently playing as Merc and i go to Rostok to farm the Duty guards. The AI are so smart and if you disappear they will start moving to the last position they saw you at and this cane be exploited. Hit and run or feign and retreat tactics then flanking also work very well in all versions of stalker. ![]() Good luck.Īlso Silencers and distance work pretty good in Anomaly you can kind of stealth for at least a kill or two before the other AI catch on. budget hunting with a Shotgun or pistol is a pretty easy place to start. The armour and weapons are seriously OP in Anomaly you just have to save up to get them. They do kind of break after 1 face shot to the screen tho so they need to be in constant repair. A good sphere or an Exo can take 5 headshots to kill you. ![]() This will help you alot with your problem of lead to the brain. I suggest you invest in a good helmet as soon as possible. what have you been playing? Vanilla CoP?Īnomaly. ![]() And no, AI doesn't miss their first shots. Even If I toss grenades from a hidden place they instantly know where I am. Not much I can do against cheap AI tricks. I never stop moving but even if they see a pixel of you they lock on :). The AI might even miss the first few bullets fired upon you but after 10+ seconds of you just standing there like a sitting duck, they will dump half a magazine into your head. The longer you remain still the more you will get headshot. They spot you, which alerts the rest of their squad to your exact location ( why they sometimes shoot through walls) Then they hone in with accuracy on your exact location. The AI is very active and works in stages. Never just remain still in stalker even when sniping. Most pistols can 1 tap people in the head. They dont even really throw grenades at you in Anomaly.
